Silat Pertempuran Huruf

Tingkat Satu can be broken into four parts respectively, Anfal Dasar, Ales Badan, Ales Kepala, and Berhormat, usually just termed Anfal Dasar, Ales, and Berhormat. Through the use of the primary tools: Ales and Anfal Dasar, you will build your means of personal defense and that is the primary reason the level is called the Huruf or alphabet of the system, since out of its use "words and phrases can be formed".

Anfal Dasar

Anfal Dasar are attack basics. Simply put, these are the basic strikes (pukulan), kicks (sepak or tendangan), elbows (siku), knees (lutut), etc. of the system. There are no blocks or stances taught at this level. As a western culture we typically stand toe to toe for fighting and it is a habit or instinct that needs to change. As a result no stances are taught except by example throughout the system.

Ales Badan

Ales Badan or the body evasions of our system are designed to get your torso out of the way of an attack. They can be effectively performed with little or no footwork depending on the attack which gives the pesilat the ability to defense themselves in very small spaces. Additionally, stepping can be added to the evasions as needed.

Ales Kepala

Ales Kepala or the head evasions of our system are designed to get your head out of the way of an attack by dodging or ducking. The look very similar to the boxers bob and weave or the fade. Again, they can be effectively performed with little or no footwork depending on the attack.

Berhormat

The Berhormat comes in several different flavors. They are the Formal, Informal, Partner, and Weapons bow. The weapons bow is not taught until the pesilat begins the study of weapons.
